Party Down!

This past Sunday, Logan, Micah, Chick, Hollye and I attended my aunt Othel's 90th birthday party. There were lots of people there including 2 little boys who thought everyone was there for them. The cake was on the table sitting all alone with a beautiful vase of roses next to it. The banquet table was laid out with food for snacking on and wonderful sandwiches and drinks. Everything was so nice. Friends and family were milling around talking to one another. All enjoying visiting with family and friends for my aunt's 90 years of life celebration.

My cousin's brother-in-law came. He has a new prosthetic leg and my cousin was there with her new prosthetic leg. The boys were very curious for about 20 seconds and then they were off and playing with other kids that attended. They ran under tables and around tables, and played under a folded ping pong table imaging a tent I'm sure. They giggled, screamed, punched and pulled - -oh to be a kid again! Micah was smitten by a girl cousin, Cassidy, whom he had never met. They sat across the table from each other to eattheir piece of cake. I think she was smitten with Micah too. She was the older woman - - 7 years to his 6 years of age. They had so much fun.

The time came to snap pictures of aunt Othel's immediate family and aunt Othel with her cake. I started taking pictures too and noticed in my view finder 2 little boys standing behind the cake, right in front of aunt Othel. Logan with his big old toothy smile and Micah with his sparkling brown moodstone eyes getting their pictures made with the family. I couldn't believe my eyes. I said, "Boys you need to get out of the pictures, these are for aunt Othel's immediate family". My aunt said, "I told them they could be in the picture". I was overruled and out voted so forever will we have two little boys grinning from ear to ear in my aunt Othel's 90th birthday celebration pictures. I thought to myself as I watched them, "How could I ever have thought of leaving them home because they would disturb the party"? They were having a grand time, and helped make the party.

My cousin's little grandson was there, and his name was Logan too. Our Logan picked up on that. The next day he was sitting in pawpaw's lap telling pawpaw, "Yesderdee when we was all at my birthday party there was a little boy named Logan - - (he smiled) just like me Pawpaw and he had blue eyes just like mine". He noted that Micah had brown eyes so I'm sure he was laying claim to someone that looked like him that was HIS family.

Thanks Joyce, Jerry, Don and Mary for a wonderful party for Logan! I know aunt Othel sure wouldn't mind sharing her day with him.
